Program Proposal Resources

Thank you for taking the time to contribute to the educational experience at the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA) Annual Meeting!

AFA and the Educational Programs Committee have curated a variety of resources to assist you in crafting a strong educational program proposal. It is recommended that program submitters review these resources before, during, and when they are ready to submit their proposal.

2025 Program Submission Resource Guide

This guide provides an overview of the information that will be collected through the Call for Programs submission form. This resource also shares considerations and tips and tricks you should keep in mind when submitting your proposal.

2025 Annual Meeting Content Focus Areas

AFA has utilized member feedback and input to develop a list of Content Focus Areas for the Annual Meeting. Submitters should consider these content focus areas when crafting their program proposals.

2025 Educational Programs Evaluation Rubric

As part of the Educational Programs review process, reviewers will utilize a rubric to evaluate programs in a specific core function area. This is one of many tools that will be used to facilitate decision-making related to educational programs offered at the Annual Meeting. The rubric outlines additional factors that AFA considers when making final educational program selections for the Annual Meeting.

AFA Core Competencies Manual

AFA’s Core Competencies provide a foundation for good practice in the fraternity/sorority profession and outline foundational knowledge and essential skills that help professionals excel in their roles. Submitters should take time to review the AFA Core Competency Manual as they will be required to select at least one Core Competency area that will be covered during their program.

Student Affairs Certification Domains

Finally, all program proposals will be reviewed for eligibility for continuing education (CE) credits for Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEd). As part of this process, AFA Central Office staff will review program proposal alignment with the eight (8) Higher Education Consortium for Student Affairs Certification domains.
